Attorney of Law Firm “ANK” was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Law

We are glad to announce that on September 30, 2021, the lawyer of Law Firm“ANK“ Elena Koch was awarded the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Law for her thesis on the topic “Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards: Theoretical and Applied Principles”.

On the basis of the dissertation research, a monograph entitled “Transnational Recognition and Enforcement of Arbitral Awards” was published.

The monograph is devoted to the current state and transformations of the mechanism of recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in more than 120 jurisdictional practices in order to identify effective strategies to improve such mechanism, based on the study of national variations of its implementation and consolidation of the doctrinal base that includes works of more than 100 experts in field of arbitration.

The addendum to the monograph presents the Handbook of Judicial Practice of Ukraine on cases of Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards that includes 547 court decisions for 2015 – 2020, presented in 6 schemes by years and in 75 diagrams. The Handbook has been developed by the author as a result of processing the case law of Ukraine.

The monograph is the first comprehensive study of the mechanism of recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in national law science.
