ANK Secures Recovery of Over UAH 1.5 Million in Favour of Ukrainian Freight Forwarder
ANK Law Office has successfully protected the interests of a Ukrainian freight forwarding company in a dispute with an importer over unpaid fees under a freight forwarding agreement.
Our Client, acting as the freight forwarder, duly arranged the transportation of cargo from China to Ukraine and ensured its timely delivery to the consignee. However, despite receiving the cargo, the consignee failed to pay for the services rendered.
A pre-litigation claim sent to the debtor had no effect. The Client then turned to the ANK legal team for assistance. Our lawyers:
- thoroughly analysed the case materials,
- developed an effective legal strategy and tactics,
- initiated a pre-trial claim procedure that resulted in partial satisfaction of the Client’s claims,
- and ultimately secured a favourable outcome before the Commercial Court of Dnipropetrovsk Region, both at first instance and on appeal — at the Central Commercial Court of Appeal.
Once the appeal process was completed, the debtor voluntarily complied with the court’s decision and transferred the awarded amount — over UAH 1.5 million, including penalties and legal costs — to our Client.
The case was handled by maritime law attorneys Artem Volkov and Kostiantyn Moriakov under the general supervision of Managing Partner Oleksandr Kyfak.
