ANK and MACN launched series of lectures for future seafarers

The Maritime Anti-Corruption Network, in collaboration with its local partner – ANK Law Office – has launched a series of lectures for cadets at the National University “Odessa Maritime Academy”. The initiative was launched as part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 1 June 2026.

In September the first lecture, “Ship Arrest: a case study”, was delivered by Artem Volkov, attorney-at-law and Head of Maritime Law Practice of ANK Law Office. During the introductory remarks, the Academy’s cadets learnt about MACN’s mission and objectives, the Association’s members, and the unique platform for reporting incidents of corruption used by MACN members. The main part of the lecture focused on the detention and arrest of vessels in seaports, illustrated with practical examples from ANK Law Office, which has been MACN’s partner in Ukraine since 2020. The next lectures will take place in October and November 2026 and will focus on corruption challenges in ports, as well as maritime incidents.
