On September 6, 2018, the XII annual international “Black Sea Container Summit” took place in Odessa.
The Summit gathered the best experts in the field of container logistics from all countries of the Black Sea region (Ukraine, Georgia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Russia), as well as representatives of the largest transnational companies operating in the region.
The relevance of the summit is conditioned by the fact that the Black Sea container market, which grew at the fastest rate in the world before the crisis of 2008 – up to 40% a year – is confidently recovering nowadays. Ukraine is actively developing the infrastructure of container transportation and stevedoring in seaports, which results in growth of container cargo volumes and formation of a new market of port services.
Based on over twenty years of experience in legal support for port operators, the managing partner of ANK Law Firm, attorney-at-law Alexander Kifak, highlighted the legal aspects of creation and modernization of container terminals in the existing territories of state ports and adjacent private territories.
