On February 26, 2020, a round table was held in Odessa, the reason for which was the crisis situation related to Ukraine’s compliance with the requirements of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW Convention), the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the European Maritime Safety Agency. (EMSA).
The organizer – the Maritime Chamber of Ukraine – has invited for conversation all those directly concerned by the topic and who can give professional advice – representatives of shipping, crewing companies, seafarers’ training centers, specialized educational institutions, lawyers, public organizations.

Nina Kostiuk, attorney-at-law, highlighted the legal aspects of Ukraine’s compliance with the requirements of the STCW Convention, as well as the obligations, which arise from Ukraine’s membership in IMO.
